God on a walk:

The man and his wife heard the sound of God walking in the garden in the cool of the day
Genesis 3.8

And what, pray tell, does the sound of God walking sound like? Does he whistle? Do the birds form an entourage for his comings and goings?

Is it more proper to read this as “heard the sound of {God walking} in the garden” or “heard the {sound of God} walking in the garden”?

As a child I could tell who was walking down the hall, it was the sound of {Dad walking}, {Mum walking}, or that of a sibling. Does he have a steady firm pace?–or perchance it is more the sound of the robes of his glory swishing past the cool garden foliage.

The ancients talked about the Music of the Spheres, perchance the {sound of God} is something like this–an emanation of pure acoustic beauty. Have you ever felt, while listening to beautiful music, that it might harm you somehow?–that, unless you hide, the perfection in the harmonics might somehow shatter the fragile glass of your soul?

Yes, it is perchance this that caused the man and his wife to hide.
